Wonderful little gem! This place is not only a small family owned business but the food is delicious! I had the vegetarian plate and the chicken, lemon, and rice soup. My man had a half beef/ chicken shawarma plate. The sauces they had were so flavorful and added a kick to our food! The falafel was crispy outside and light fluffy on the inside, definitely some of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in town for LA!! Thank you Rania & David.
House of falafel is our go to shawarma spot. Its always good! We usually get the chicken shawarma dinner. It's enough food for lunch the next day!
I live extremely close to this location, and I was very surprised that I had never heard of it before. The service is extremely respectful and so welcoming to everyone that walks through the front door and it makes so much sense that they've received so many accolades for their business. The ambience inside is very Mediterranean and it smells superb. I went with some falafel bites and took home a rice pudding. The crunchiness and fresh taste behind the falafel had me hooked instantly. It came with a delicious dipping sauce that I gate-kept from the rest of my family haha! Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean food!
Got their House Combo Plate ($19.99 as of Oct 2024), and it came with a good amount of food!!! This signature House Plate includes rice with almonds, beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, kafta kabob, hummus, 1 pc of falafel, your choice of tabouli or fattoush salad, and garlic or tahini sauce. I went with tabouli which was fresh and delicious. For the sauce, of course I would opt for the garlic sauce which sadly we don't have here in San Francisco Bay Area. The rice was nicely cooked and fluffy. The chicken shawarma was nicely seasoned but was a bit dry (but it was still good). The beef shawarma also had a solid flavor although it was slightly tougher than I ideally would want it to be (but again, it was still fantastic in general, and I would get it again honestly). The kafta kabob was delicious. The falafel was a perfection - the inside was vibrant green, it was gorgeous! I now understand why this place could maintain a 5-star overall rating even after hundreds of reviews.
This is a great place for a vegetarian meal. The food is very tasty and the ingredients are definitely fresh and flavorful. You can make your own bowl or wrap and the selection is quite extensive. For just a few dollars more, you can make it a meal and they are very reasonable. This location has won lots of awards over the years and the service is excellent . They clearly take pride in what they do.
I was here for a Yelp event, but ordered additional food off of the regular menu. The falafel was so fresh and crisp and the service was excellent. We were even greeted with a free falafel for first time customers. There is limited seating, but it seems like they mostly cater to take out orders. Wish I lived closer!
Delicious!!! Fresh, healthy, and gluten-free bowls filled with yum. Tabouleh is just right. You know the garlic is in-cre-di-ble, right!?? The OMG sauce is a great blend, too... The house-made hot sauce has a bright spicy bite. Love adding in veggies in the bowl!! So nice to feel good about your lunch, but not be a salad. Falafel is tender and crisp. You get a free one to try on your first visit... Make sure you let them know.
I just love it here. I know I can talk about how ridiculously good the food is, but this place has such a rare gem of a vibe. You instantly feel welcome, like they were waiting just for you! Everyone is so kind and engaged with every customer, even when busy! Now the obvious: the food was RIDICULOUSLY good. We got a shawarma, a bowl, and got our littles the steak and fries. The shawarma was incredible. Perfect texture for the pita and chicken. We loaded up that bowl, and it was so incredible! I want to go back tomorrow and get that bowl all over again I'd say my favorite toppings were the jalapeños, banana peppers, garlic, hommus, pickles, and cauliflower with the chicken and rice. The deserve every accolade they have!
First time at this business and was quite impressed. Having worked in Dearborn for 30 years and living in West Bloomfield for 36 years, I have been exposed to some of the finest Mediterranean food that Michigan has to offer. Having said that, the food served by House of Falafel is arguably the best I have had in this area (which is saying a lot!). The Chicken Shwarma I had was absolutely delicious with the meat cooked to perfection and and all the ingredients melding together to form one of the tastiest sandwiches I have had in a while. Of note, I don't know what makes there pickles so good on this sandwich but this one component stands out to me adding a layer of goodness to the taste profile that needs to sampled to truly be appreciated. Aside from my Chicken Schwarma I also got the Falafel and the Fatoosh salad that were also very good and a nice complement to the Sandwich. I had heard/read so much good press about this business and had been looking forward to finally trying their food. Final judgement in my book is their food is very very good and the near 5 star rating is very well deserved. Aside from the food, the owner and what I believe are his family members were so friendly and inviting. You can run into a lot of surly folks these days at some of the restaurants in the area post Covid but not at this place. This friendliness combined with the quality of food makes this a standout business in my opinion Along these lines, without prompting the owner gave me a free Falafel to sample which I did not expect and truly appreciated the gesture, After trying it and seeing how good it was, I found myself buying an order to go. Shrewd business move on their part (: Overall if you are a fan of fine Mediterranean food and/or have been wanting to give this style of food a try, you owe it to yourself to check out this business as you will not be disappointed. Truly a five star business!
Super casual ambience with friendly staff! I got the kafta bowl with a falafel on the side. Super flavorful bowl, plenty of vegetables, and tasty hummus spread. I normally don't like falafel, but I liked this one! The grilled eggplant is the highlight for sure! Highly recommend everyone give this place a try, you won't regret it.
